In a quiet and surprise move, Bollywood star Parineeti Chopra and Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha have officially become a married couple. The two lovebirds exchanged vows in a private ceremony held in the picturesque city of Udaipur on September 24.
The couple has yet to make an official announcement about their nuptials, keeping it all low-key.
News agency ANI reported that sources revealed Parineeti Chopra looked stunning in a Manish Malhotra ensemble on her special day.
In a video clip from the ceremony, the enchanting melody of ‘Kabira’ from the movie ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ could be heard playing in the background as the couple took part in the rituals.
Earlier in the day, the wedding guests, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, arrived at the venue by boat. Among the prominent attendees were tennis star Sania Mirza, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh, Shiva Sena leader Aditya Thackeray, and fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
While global superstar and Parineeti’s cousin, Priyanka Chopra, couldn’t make it to the wedding, she expressed her love and best wishes for the newlyweds on Instagram. She shared a photo of her sister with a heartfelt caption: “I hope your happiness on your special day matches the joy in this picture, my dear cousin. Always sending you loads of love. #newbeginnings @parineetichopra @raghavchadha88.”
Before the main wedding festivities in Udaipur, the couple celebrated their sangeet with a fun 90s theme. They had previously hosted a Sufi night for close friends and family members in Delhi before heading to Udaipur.
