After the hilarious performance by comedian Trevor Noah, India is now in for a dose of British humor as Jimmy Carr announces his first-ever tour in the country. Carr, renowned for his razor-sharp wit and deadpan humor, is all set to tickle India’s funny bone in January next year.
The unexpected news came via Carr’s Instagram account, where he revealed the tour dates for his ‘Terribly Funny’ show in India. Comedy enthusiasts can catch him live in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru on January 19, 20, and 21, 2024, respectively.
Carr shared the exciting news, stating, “Very excited to announce my first-ever tour dates in India! I’ll be bringing the Terribly Funny tour to New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore in January 2024. Tickets are on sale now at JIMMYCARR.COM.”
Jimmy Carr, famous for his controversial one-liners and unique comedic style, began his comedy journey in 1997. He’s a familiar face on television as the host of popular Channel 4 panel shows like ‘8 Out of 10 Cats,’ ‘8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown,’ and ‘The Big Fat Quiz of the Year.’ While Carr’s comedy has earned both acclaim and criticism, he’s known for pushing boundaries.
In his 2021 Netflix special ‘His Dark Material,’ Carr stirred controversy with a joke about the Holocaust. His joke faced strong condemnation from various quarters, including the Auschwitz Memorial and British politicians. Despite the backlash, Carr stood by his humor.
Notably, Trevor Noah recently graced India with his comedy in the same three cities mentioned for Carr’s tour. While he entertained Delhi and Mumbai, the Bengaluru shows had to be canceled due to technical issues.
During his Mumbai show, Noah humorously roasted the venue and, before departing, expressed his appreciation for India and promised to return to Bengaluru. As India eagerly awaits Jimmy Carr’s tour, it seems the country is becoming a hotspot for international comedy acts, bringing laughter to audiences nationwide.
