Adah Sharma’s upcoming film The Kerala Story is ready to start streaming on OTT platforms. Adah took to Instagram to announce this thrilling news to her fans. The movie is helmed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Vipul Shah. She wrote, “FINALLY !!!!! SURPRISE !!The most anticipated film is dropping soon on ZEE5!#TheKeralaStory premieres on 16th February, only on #ZEE5.”
About The Kerala Story
The Kerala Story depicts the experiences of three young women: Shalini (Adah Sharma), Nimah (Yogita Bihani), and Geetanjali (Siddhi Idnani), who are influenced by their roommate, Asifa (Sonia Balani), to change their religion.
The film is split into two parts: the first half illustrates how the girls were influenced to convert to another religion, while the second half focuses on Shalini’s journey as Fatima Ba – a member of a terrorist group after her conversion and her subsequent imprisonment in Afghanistan. It also highlights the manipulation of men who were persuaded to pursue Hindu and Christian women from Kerala, convert them, and recruit them into war zones in the name of love. These disturbing events took place between 2018-19, when an increasing number of young people from Kerala fell under the influence of a terrorist organization.

Adah Sharma expressed her emotions by sharing, “The courageous makers of The Kerala Story, Vipul Shah and Sudipto Sen deserve to be applauded for having put in immense hard work to bring this film to life. After the stupendous success at the box office, creating history worldwide making it the highest grossing female lead film of all time, we are now looking forward to the film’s release on ZEE5.”
“The film’s collaboration with this global platform will allow us to extend the reach of the film to a much wider audience. The audience who didn’t get a chance to watch the film in the theatre and many who watched it and want to re watch it are waiting with bated breath. I’m thrilled I have an answer to all those who have been asking ‘Kerala story OTT pe kab aaegi?’.”, she added.
Vipul Amrutlal Shah expressed his enthusiasm for the OTT journey, “After the tremendous success at the box office, we have been receiving thousands of mails asking when will The Kerala Story come on OTT. So, the wait is finally over and here it is. “

Controversy
The Kerala Story has faced scrutiny since its trailer was released. The trailer claimed that 32,000 women were missing from Kerala, but many disputed the accuracy of this figure. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized it as a ‘distorted story’ and initially banned the film in the state. However, the ban was lifted after the Supreme Court intervened and instructed the state government to allow the film to be screened.
Despite the controversy, The Kerala Story was a commercial success at the box office last year. It is set to premiere on February 16 on ZEE5.
