The day after Kartik Aaryan extended a warm welcome to Vidya Balan as the “OG Manjulika” in the third installment of the popular horror comedy franchise Bhool Bhulaiyaa, there appears to be another exciting update. According to a report from Mid-Day, following Vidya’s inclusion, Madhuri Dixit has also joined the ensemble cast of Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
Will Madhuri be in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3?
The report cites a source that says, “The team felt another spirit would add to the narrative. So, it will be Rooh Baba versus the two ghosts played by Madhuri and Vidya. By bringing the two leading ladies together for the first time on screen, the makers have played a trump card.”
The report also mentioned that the movie is anticipated to begin filming in March. Additionally, there are suggestions in the report that Sara Ali Khan, Kartik’s former girlfriend, might be cast opposite him in the third installment instead of Kiara Advani. However, it added, “The discussions are at a nascent stage. Nothing is confirmed yet.”
Vidya Balan, who portrayed the character of Manjulika in the 2007 psychological horror-comedy movie Bhool Bhulaiyaa, is ready to make a comeback to the series.
Kartik Aaryan, who starred in the second installment and will also play a leading role in the third installment, greeted Vidya as she joined the project on Monday. “And its happening. Og Manjulika is coming back to the world of BhoolBhulaiyaaSuper thrilled to welcome @balanvidya. This Diwali is going to be crackling #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 @aneesbazmee @tseries.official #BhushanKumar,” he wrote.
Kartik has also released a modified video that combines Vidya’s iconic visuals as Manjulika from the first film with visuals of Kartik from the second film. Anees Bazmee, the director of the second film, will also direct the third installment. The first film was directed by Priyadarshan and starred Akshay Kumar alongside Vidya. In the second film, Kartik appeared on screen with Tabu and Kiara Advani.

On expanding the franchise, producer Bhushan Kumar said, “The Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise holds a special place in our hearts, and I’m very happy to be taking it forward with a creative mind like Anees and an incredible talent like Kartik. Together, we are set to deliver a cinematic experience that will both honor the legacy of the franchise and bring double the laughter and thrill for the audience.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is slated to release this Diwali.
