About Yash’s Career

His career took off on Kannada television before transitioning to films, and it has been close to twenty years since he first stepped into the industry.

The actor, who once left home with only ₹ 300, joined a theatre group before making his TV debut in 2004. His appearance in the show Nanda Gokula marked the beginning of his on-screen partnership with his now-wife Radhika Pandit. Yash made his film debut in 2007 with Jambada Hudugi, and his career has been on an upward trajectory ever since. Let’s take a look back at five films that propelled him to the stardom he enjoys today.

Googly (2013)

Following consecutive romantic comedies, Yash transitioned from being a romantic hero to an action star. However, this film, directed by Pawan Wadeyar and co-starring Kriti Kharbanda, marked one of the final romantic movies he appeared in. In the movie, Yash and Kriti portrayed the characters Sharath and Swathi, a couple who fall in love but become separated due to misunderstandings. They eventually reunite years later at a friend’s wedding.

Raja Huli (2013)

This film starring Guru Deshpande and Meghana Raj is a remake of the Tamil movie Sundarapandiyan. Yash portrays Raja Huli, a man from a wealthy family who embarks on a mission to convey his friend’s love for a girl, only to realize that the girl is his ex-girlfriend. The story unfolds as the couple rekindle their love, but Raja encounters trouble when he is accused of a murder.

Mr and Mrs Ramchari (2014)

Yash portrayed a college student in this film directed by Santosh Ananddram, depicting a life reminiscent of a traditional Kannada movie. The action-comedy also featured his wife Radhika and was subsequently adapted into Marathi and Odia. The movie received numerous accolades and achieved significant commercial success at the box office.

Gajakesari (2014)

This action movie, helmed by S Krishna and featuring Amulya and Ananth Nag, created a stir at the box office. Yash portrays Baddi Krishna, the presumed heir to the temple chief, portrayed by Ananth. Despite Baddi’s lack of interest in customs and faith, circumstances compel him to assume the role.

Santhu Straight Forward (2016)

Mahesh Rao and Jocky co-directed the Kannada adaptation of the Tamil movie Vaalu. In this film, Mahesh’s wife Radhika also acted alongside him. He portrayed the character of Santhu, a kind-hearted person who develops feelings for a college student after encountering her multiple times by chance. However, their romance faces obstacles when the feared Don Deva enters the picture.
