Halle Bailey, famous for her role as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, has joyfully welcomed her first child, a son, with her boyfriend, the rapper and singer-songwriter DDG. Halle shared a photo on Instagram on Sunday, announcing that they have chosen the name Halo for their newborn son.
The picture showed only their hands, with Halle’s well-groomed fingers holding a small hand adorned with a gold bracelet inscribed with the name ‘Halo.’ Their hands were placed on top of DDG’s hand.
Halle Bailey writes a note about her son
Halle posted the image with the caption, “Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son.. welcome to the world my halo (three heart face, angel face and sparkles emojis) the world is desperate to know you (winking face, rolling on the floor laughing and black heart emojis).”
As reported by People, Halle and DDG have been in a relationship for more than a year. They made their relationship public on Instagram in March 2022 when the founder of Zooted Music record label posted a birthday message for the singer.
In November, Halle addressed a fan’s comment on Snapchat suggesting that she had a “pregnancy nose” in a recent photo. In her response, Halle posted a video stating, “Listen, if I see one more person say something about my nose one more time, it’s going to be hell to pay. You know why? Because I’m Black. I love my nose. What are you concerned about my nose for? Leave me the hell alone.”
When Halle discussed her relationship with DDG
In May of last year, Halle spoke with People magazine about her life after her relationship with DDG. “I think the best thing about young love is that you’re able to continue to find yourself through this journey of loving somebody else. And you’re discovering new parts of yourself and maybe things that you didn’t notice before about your heart,” she had said.
