Among his accusers was Ally Sheedy, known for ‘The Breakfast Club,’ who hinted at Franco’s behavior during their collaboration on his Off-Broadway directorial debut. Although Sheedy’s tweets were later removed, they left lingering questions. When questioned by Meyers, Franco seemed genuinely puzzled, displaying shock and confusion.
The situation intensified when a Los Angeles Times article detailed allegations from five women who accused Franco of sexual exploitation while serving as an acting teacher and mentor. The accusations ranged from inappropriate on-set conduct to more serious claims, including an alleged attempt to pressure actress Violet Paley into a non-consensual act.
In response to these allegations, Franco and his attorney, Michael Plonsker, vehemently denied each claim. On ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,’ Franco expressed his support for victims while maintaining his innocence. He said, “The things that I heard that were on Twitter are not accurate. But I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice because they didn’t have a voice for so long.”
