Jamie Dornan became a global sensation for his portrayal of Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey series. In a recent interview with The Independent, the actor shared that accepting the role had its repercussions. The Irish actor disclosed that following the release of the films, he faced intense fan scrutiny and encountered a ‘frightening’ incident when a stalker showed up at his home while his children were there.

In an interview with The Independent, Jamie Dornan recounted the event and mentioned: “I’m pretty good at just blocking any of the noise associated with whatever fandom is – not letting it affect me, or more importantly my family… I’ve been involved in situations where it’s impacted my family. I had a situation… a stalker-type situation before Covid. That was f***ing scary. Someone turned up at my house when my kids were there. It was not something… The more I can block that out, the better it is for me and the family.” Jamie shares three daughters with his wife Amelia Warner.
During the same interview, the actor discussed the high level of public attention and criticism he faces when he undertakes such prominent projects. “There’s never going to be anything like Fifty Shades again. It felt very much like its own thing, particularly because it focused in and around sex. But there are obviously other jobs that bring insane scrutiny, like superhero stuff, or f***ing James Bond – any of that stuff. I’ve done pretty well to avoid that sort of s*** so far,” he added.
Jamie Dornan’s latest appearance was in the Netflix suspense film Heart of Stone, alongside Gal Gadot and Alia Bhatt. The movie, released in August, also served as the Hollywood introduction for actor Alia Bhatt. His upcoming project is the first season of The Tourist, scheduled to premiere on Netflix on February 1, 2024.
