Arjun Varain Singh made his directorial debut with the film “Kho Gaye Hum Kahan,” which is a ‘coming-of-digital-age’ movie featuring Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Adarsh Gourav. The movie was released on Netflix India on Tuesday and has garnered mostly positive reviews from both critics and users on X (formerly Twitter).
A Story That People Can Relate To: Kho Gaye Hum Kahan
Numerous individuals used the platform to express that they found the movie highly relatable in the era of social media. One person stated, “Kho gaye hum kahan feels like a whole personal attack on all the problems in my life.”
Another person posted a screenshot from the movie showing Ananya Panday’s character sitting on the steps of a spiral staircase and captioned it, “This particular scene in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan employs cinematic brilliance to vividly draw parallels between the onset of Ahana’s social media stalking and her going down a downward spiral. Such a relevant and insightful watch!”

A third user posted, “Yes Kho Gaye Hum Kahan is preachy but I haven’t seen a film as relatable as this one in such a long time. The scene where Ananya Pandey is struggling to keep her hands away from her phone, and not being able to stop herself from stalking her asshole ex and get his attention? Damn.”
The Archies Hype Was Well-Deserved.
Some users argued that the movie, co-produced by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby Films, deserved the same level of attention and promotion as their previous release, Zoya’s period coming-of-age film The Archies, received in the months leading up to its release on Netflix India earlier this month. One user expressed this sentiment by writing, “kho gaye hum kahan deserves the hype archies got. half-way through the movie, i am hooked and enjoying immensely.” Another posted, “Zoya hyped mid movie archies so much and left kho gaye hum kahan which is infact amazing lying in the corner.”
An Abundance Of Crossovers
One observant user noted that Suchitra Pillai, who portrayed Saif Ali Khan’s girlfriend in Farhan Akhtar’s iconic directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai in 2001, appears as Siddhant Chaturvedi’s therapist in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, which is also produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment.

Another individual mentioned that the movie evoked similarities to Shakun Batra’s romantic thriller “Gehraiyaan” from the previous year, which also featured Siddhant and Ananya.
Kho Gaye Hum Kahan reminded me of Gehraiyaan quite strongly, especially, because of the visuals. pic.twitter.com/GvuJKtlTym

Another user went above and beyond and noted that the actress who plays Siddhant’s stepmother in the movie is actually the same actor who portrays one of Poo’s (Kareena Kapoor) friends in Karan Johar’s 2001 hit family drama “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.”
“What happened to Poo’s friends from K3G?” is something I often think about — you could almost say it’s my Roman Empire — weirdly tickled to have found an answer in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan! pic.twitter.com/LvHfgduUGZ
