Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra’s latest release, “Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,” directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, has been stepping up making its mark at the Indian box office. The film, based on the heroic true story of Jaswant Singh Gill, who saved 65 miners from a coal mine in 1989, collected ₹1.5 crore on Tuesday, marking its fifth day in theaters.

Adding these up, the film’s India collection currently stands at ₹15.6 crore. On its fifth day, “Mission Raniganj” had a 9.6 percent Hindi occupancy, indicating its gradual but steady performance.

I don’t know about what the commerciality of this film is going to be, but one thing is for sure: I am so proud of the film he has made. And I am happy to say that this is one of the best films I have done.”
