Salman Khan Starrer “Tiger 3” Records Massive Opening Day Collection of Rs 44.5 Crores, Setting New Diwali Record

Salman Khan’s latest action-packed film, “Tiger 3,” is off to a roaring start at the box office. Despite being released on Laxmi Puja day during Diwali, traditionally a slow day for movies due to festive celebrations, the film has raked in an impressive Rs 44.5 crore in all-India box office collections on its opening day.

This marks a new record for Diwali day collections for any Hindi film, surpassing the previous record of Rs 22 crore held by the combined collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” and Ajay Devgn’s “Son Of Sardaar” in 2012.

Salman Khan’s “Tiger 3” has also outperformed Hrithik Roshan’s “Krrish 3,” which previously held the record for the highest Diwali day collection by a single movie with Rs 15 crore.

The film has made Rs 42 crore in Hindi, with an additional Rs 2-2.5 crore from its all-India versions (Tamil and Telugu), resulting in a total of Rs 44.5 crore. This opening makes “Tiger 3” the biggest opener of Salman Khan’s career, surpassing his previous best of Rs 42.30 crore for “Bharat” on Eid, a national holiday.

While “Tiger 3” falls short of the opening numbers of Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” (Rs 57 crore) and “Jawan” (Rs 75 crore), it has set a new record for a film opening on a traditionally slower Diwali day. With this impressive start, “Tiger 3” is poised for a successful run during the extended Diwali holiday period.

Industry experts anticipate that the film could earn over Rs 120 crore on Monday and Tuesday, with hopes of reaching a three-day total exceeding Rs 165 crore.

“Tiger 3” is the third installment of the highly successful franchise and stars Katrina Kaif alongside Salman Khan, with Emran Hashmi playing the antagonist. The film is part of Yash Raj Films’ spy universe, which also includes Hrithik Roshan’s “War” and Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan.”
