Shah Rukh Khan has had nothing short of remarkable success at the box office this year in the world of Bollywood. He has achieved notable success with films like Pathaan and Jawan, which highlight his talent in the cinema. Not only that but fans and movie buffs alike are eagerly anticipating his next production, Dunki. Set your calendars for October 26. That’s when the eighth season of the wildly famous chat show Koffee With Karan, hosted by none other than the charming Karan Johar, is set to premiere. Naturally, this raises the intriguing question: will Shah Rukh Khan make an appearance this season?
For the first three seasons of Koffee with Karan, Shah Rukh Khan was a regular. He didn’t participate in the fourth season, but he came back to start the fifth. Host Karan Johar discussed whether Shah Rukh will be seen returning to Koffee with Karan Season 8 after skipping the previous two installments in a recent interview with Pinkvilla.
What Karan Johar said to PinkVilla
Despite his wife Gauri Khan’s debut on the show last year, Shah Rukh Khan was noticeably absent from the show in its first two seasons. Fans and viewers are curious to find out if Shah Rukh will be joining the cast of the program again because of the buzz surrounding his possible comeback. “Shah Rukh is there, but I don’t think he wants to be in the forefront. He deserves his silence. As fans and filmmakers, we should give him that.”, the show’s host Karan Johar said to Pinkvilla.
Shah Rukh Khan on Koffee With Karan
In 2004, Shah Rukh and Kajol, his co-star in three Karan Johar films, opened the first-ever episode of Koffee with Karan. In the season premiere of the second installment, the two were joined by Rani Mukerji, who also starred with them in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Actually, Shah Rukh made three appearances on Koffee with Karan Season 1. Once, he and Gauri participated in an episode that also included Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan, who were then a couple. In the season finale, he and co-star Amitabh Bachchan of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham shared a couch.
After going solo for Season 3, Shah Rukh began Season 5 alongside Alia Bhatt, his Dear Zindagi co-star. In response to his absence during Season 4, he made a joke about wanting the show’s TRPs to decrease.
He missed Season 6 because of a supposed falling out with Karan, which they eventually patched up. The director explained that the actor’s absence from Season 7 was because he had finally emerged from the background with the release of Pathaan this year.
