Shooting Incident Outside AP Dhillon’s Canadian Residence, Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Takes Responsibility

Shots were allegedly fired outside the residence of Punjab-born singer AP Dhillon on Victoria Island, in Vancouver. The incident, which took place last night, has sent shockwaves through the community. A gangster named Rohit Godara, who claimed to be associated with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has taken responsibility for the shooting.

A video, trending on social media, shows an individual firing multiple rounds outside a house during the night. While the video’s authenticity and location remain unverified, the incident has sparked widespread concern. AP Dhillon, who resides on Victoria Island in British Columbia, has not yet issued a statement regarding the event. Canadian law enforcement is currently investigating the situation, although they have not provided any official comment.

In a purported social media post, Rohit Godara claimed that the shooting took place at two locations in Canada: Victoria Island and Woodbridge, Toronto. The gangster further alleged that the attack was motivated by AP Dhillon’s decision to feature Bollywood actor Salman Khan in a recent music video. Godara, who claims ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, also issued death threats against the singer in the same post.

Security agencies are now working to verify the claims made by Godara and are closely analyzing the video evidence. This incident comes amidst a string of attacks linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, raising concerns about the gang’s reach and influence.

On Tuesday, the Punjab-born singer, who has been living in Canada for many years, took to Instagram Stories to reassure his fans. He wrote, “I’m safe. My people are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out. Your support means everything 🙏. Peace and love to all.”

AP Dhillon posted Instagram Stories to reassure his fans

AP Dhillon, known for his unique blend of 80s synth-pop and Punjabi music, has rapidly gained international fame with hit songs like “Brown Munde,” “Excuses,” “Summer High,” “With You,” “Dil Nu,” and “Insane.” His meteoric rise has made him a global sensation, particularly within the Punjabi diaspora.

This is not the first time the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has targeted high-profile individuals. In November last year, the gang allegedly orchestrated a shooting at the home of another Punjabi singer, Gippy Grewal, in Vancouver’s White Rock neighborhood. Additionally, in April, two assailants on motorcycles fired shots outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai. The Mumbai police subsequently identified Lawrence Bishnoi and his younger brother, Anmol Bishnoi, as “wanted accused” in connection with the attack.

Lawrence Bishnoi, a jailed gangster, has been implicated in multiple high-profile crimes. Last year, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) revealed that Salman Khan was the top target on a hit list reportedly compiled by Bishnoi, who sought to avenge the 1998 black buck hunting incident that offended the Bishnoi community.

As the investigation into the recent shooting outside AP Dhillon’s home unfolds, security measures around the singer are expected to be tightened. The incident underscores the growing menace of gang-related violence that has begun to impact not just India, but the Indian diaspora abroad as well.

For now, the global Punjabi music community and fans of AP Dhillon await further developments and the singer’s response to this alarming event.
