Taylor Swift Thanks Fans as "Cruel Summer" Surpasses 1 Billion Spotify Streams

Taylor Swift expressed her gratitude to fans on social media for helping her achieve yet another remarkable milestone even for the star of her league.

Her hit song “Cruel Summer” has crossed the 1 billion streams mark on Spotify, as announced by the music streaming platform on their X platform (formerly known as Twitter). This track is part of Swift’s 2019 album, “Lover.”

Spotify’s post read, “It’s been no cruel summer for @taylorswift13 this year. Congratulations on another track in the #BillionsClub.”

Swift herself took to her Instagram Story to acknowledge this accomplishment on a Sunday morning, sharing her heartfelt sentiments.

“Summer just got a BILLION TIMES CRUELER,” she wrote. “Love you all so much for this.”

This exciting news follows Taylor Swift’s recent record-breaking achievements. Her ticket presales for the newly announced concert film, “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour,” generated a staggering $26 million on the first day for AMC Theatres. This set a new record for the largest single-day advance ticket sales revenue by the mega-exhibitor.

Furthermore, Swift made history as the first female artist on Spotify to amass over 100 million monthly listeners, putting her second only to The Weeknd.
