Actor Pankaj Tripathi is ready to showcase his talent on the silver screen by portraying former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in his upcoming film, Mai ATAL Hoon. A teaser for the movie was released by the makers on Tuesday, with the full trailer scheduled to be unveiled on Wednesday.
The teaser presents Pankaj as the PM. Although he may not bear a striking resemblance to Vajpayee, his manner of speaking and fashion sense may evoke memories of India’s iconic three-time Prime Minister. It also features his famous kamal remark as Pankaj says, “Dalo ke iss dal-dal k bech, ek kamal khilana hoga (we have to bring a change).”

The biographical film will provide fans with a glimpse into the inspiring life of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Earlier, the creators revealed a motion poster.

Main ATAL Hoon is helmed by Ravi Jadhav and supported by Bhanushali Studios Limited and Legend Studios, with Vinod Bhanushali, Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan, and Kamlesh Bhanushali. The screenplay is co-written by Rishi Virmani and Ravi Jadhav, with music by Salim-Sulaiman. Manoj Muntashir has penned the lyrics for the songs. The movie is scheduled for theatrical release on January 24th.
Pankaj previously commented on the filming experience for Main ATAL Hoon in a statement, “Getting a chance to play the role of our great leader, Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee was an honour in itself. We went through rigorous reading sessions, to understand the dialect, his lifestyle and his vision for India. I feel elated today as we begin shooting for Main Atal Hoon.”
