“That Would Be Selfish” – John Cena: Wrestler-Turned-Actor Sets Another WWE Exit, Focusing on Hollywood

John Cena, a popular face in both the WWE ring and Hollywood, is making headlines once again. This time, he’s confirmed his departure from the wrestling world.

Among the many wrestlers who stepped into acting from the WWE universe, John Cena’s journey stands out. He’s successfully balanced both worlds, achieving remarkable success in each. After a thriving career in the wrestling ring, he took a chance on acting, and it’s safe to say he’s been quite successful there too. With major franchises under his belt, including a role in James Gunn’s DC Universe, he’s undoubtedly one of the most accomplished actors of the moment. Yet, his WWE career has also been flourishing, but now he’s putting a periodic halt to it.

John Cena, a prolific WWE Champion, has become a Hollywood heavyweight, starring in some of the biggest franchises. He’s an integral part of the Fast & Furious franchise, with multiple films already in his filmography. Additionally, he’s known for his role as Peacemaker in James Gunn’s universe, with the first season receiving a resounding thumbs-up and a second season in the works, as confirmed by DCU.

Recently, Cena returned to the wrestling ring, taking advantage of Hollywood’s standstill due to the strike. However, as the strike appears to be approaching a conclusion in the near future, he’s now confirming his departure from WWE once again to focus on his Hollywood projects, which have been on hold for a while.

According to Ringside News, John Cena explained his exit, saying, “I’ve made it perfectly clear that you can’t do both because of the liability insurance, and if I were to try to juggle both, then that would be selfish because I would put a lot of people out of work if something happened to me.”

“So, yes, I stopped the project I was in; I can’t even talk about what the project was because of the strike, and we’re in the middle of it. So, as soon as I can get back to work, I get back to work. I don’t control any of that, just crossing my fingers to hope that they can figure that out. In the meantime, I came back to help with my family,” John Cena added.

Wrapping up his response, the 16-time World Champion hinted, “This isn’t the last one, but the last one is on the horizon.”
