Tom Cruise was the highlight of the Paris Olympics 2024 closing ceremony, showcasing his renowned talent for performing dangerous stunts in his films. The actor jumped off the roof of the Strate De France, one of the largest stadiums, and landed on stage, captivating the audience with his daring stunt and receiving thunderous applause.

Cruise’s dramatic entrance from the roof marked the start of his performance at the closing ceremony. As he landed on the stage, he was greeted by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, who received the Olympics baton from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. Cruise then took the baton and rode out of the stadium on his motorcycle, symbolizing the passing of the baton from Paris to LA.
The song “By The Way” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers played in the background as the actor rode a bike through the streets of Paris and then drove into a plane, according to Variety.
A pre-recorded video showed Cruise parachuting from a plane and landing near the Hollywood sign. After landing, the actor attached the five Olympic rings to the sign to mark the host of the next Olympics.
Cruise was a frequent attendee at the Olympic games this summer, being spotted at the opening ceremony on July 27 and attending several competitions alongside other celebrities like Ariana Grande, Steven Spielberg, and Sarah Jessica. A day before the opening ceremony, he was awarded the Knight of the Legion of Honour by Rachita Dati, the culture minister of France.

They also featured top celebrities, including Celine Dion and Lady Gaga, in the grand opening ceremony.
It will be exciting to see how the Summer Games will be hosted in the City of Angels. LA Mayor Bass told Reuters on Friday in Paris, “will really show the diversity and the international character of our city. And we do have Hollywood, so I expect a lot of magical opportunities, which might begin at the closing ceremony.”
