Before the debut of Arun Matheswaran’s Captain Miller on January 12, the production team unveiled the movie’s trailer. Featuring Dhanush in the lead role, the film also showcases a talented cast, including Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, Vinoth Kishan, Nassar, and Edward Sonnenblick.
About The Trailer
The trailer, which runs for 2 minutes and 54 seconds, offers a glimpse into the world of Captain Miller. It depicts a setting in pre-independent India where the British hold control, and Dhanush’s character is portrayed as a criminal and a dacoit.
Dhanush portrays Easa, a local rebel leader who opposes the colonization of his village. A line of dialogue suggests that his character’s demeanor is influenced by others. The village holds a treasure that the locals protect, but the British aim to plunder it.
About The Film Captain Miller
In addition to Dhanush’s character, the trailer also offers glimpses of the supporting roles played by Shiva, Priyanka, Sundeep, and Vinoth. It provides sufficient information without revealing too much. Captain Miller will feature music composed by GV Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, and editing by Nagooran Ramachandran. The script for the film was written in 2018, but it was only in 2020 that Dhanush agreed to the project. Set in the 1930s, the film’s title is inspired by Tom Hanks’ Saving Private Ryan (1998).
Before commencing production in 2022, Captain Miller underwent extensive pre-production preparations. The filming occurred in outdoor locations such as Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and others. The production team faced controversy amid rumors of unauthorized shooting at the Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve. A petition was lodged against the team by Tenkasi residents due to alleged explosive blasting. Filming concluded in November 2023.
